• Ring via Han Cholo

Until today, I had never heard of the "Bling Ring". I stumbled upon it and think this story is kind of fascinating and done right could make for an amazing movie. This would be such an awesome movie to produce.

If this ever gets done I would love to Art Direct it. Just sayin'.
In other news, I am now kind of obsessed with the Han Cholo ring.

Dannnnnnnng!
Lucky I am leaving the country for the next month and can't have anything delivered to me, cause that would have been an instant online purchase!

Which 2 would you pick?

A few things...

Undercover Boss: I caught this show last night after accidentally watching the premiere of The Amazing Race. I say "accidentally" because I happened to turn on the TV and Desperate Housewives had just started and then the commercials for The Amazing Race came on and so of course I had to just check who the contestants were this season, then before I knew it the ad for this new show came on and that was that, I was trapped. Sucked in and trapped. What a sucker.

What then began as some innocent browsing to accompany eating dinner, you know like a good glass of wine, turned into a fixation and now I am afraid I am hooked on to another couple of shows. Efffff! This always happens.
Metaphorically, I drank the entire bottle... I was drunk! Drank! Taken hostage by the devil's juice.

The next morning feeling slightly grimy after realising how much time I sunk into the TV I felt like I needed to lecture myself on responsibility and self respect... "What, did you trip and fall on the remote control?!" Jesus.

Note: Reality TV is how my obsession with UFC began - The show The Ultimate Fighter.
4 years deep and I can talk your ears off about UFC. For the record my favourite Light weight fighter is Frankie Edgar and in the Heavy weight division it's Brock Lesnar.

I also once had a dream that Dana White asked me to be his personal assistant. I actually remember being so beyond excited at this offer, I couldn't wait to tell everyone I knew.

I don't think I have ever woken up so devastated from a dream before. It actually bummed me out for a second... a little part inside of me died that morning...

Moving on.

So this show Undercover Boss, sends CEO's of big companies undercover within the lower levels of their companies to see the actual day to day going's on.

What I thought was going to be a bunch of people getting busted for slacking off and whatnot was actually a super eye opening experience for me and Steve - the CEO featured last night (yeah, I go on this journey with these people, I am not a one foot out the door kind of gal, I invested it all).

It was really amazing to see how many people were putting everything they had selflessly into something that wasn't necessarily their ideal vocation but for different reasons they had to kind of suck it up and push on. Many of those reasons were also for other people. One guy worked two jobs to put his kid into college, another mum had to work cause her partner got laid off and she had to support him and the 2 kids they had.

And the thing was, they were so matter-of-factly about why they were doing what they were doing and weren't at all victimizing themselves. They'd show up to work and bust their asses all with a smile on their faces.

I realise that these people knew that they were going to be on TV and that they were most likely on their best behaviour for the cameras, but a lot of me thinks that these people were fundamentally pretty true to what they were portrayed as.

I don't know how to say this without sounding like a total sucker but this made me think a lot, it made me want to be a better person. More selfless.

The awesome thing about this show is that after Steve the CEO had worked a day in the life of all of these people, he called them all to head office and that's where he revealed his true identity. Also to reward all of the people featured he gave them various opportunities to better their situations - for the dad working to get his kid in college, he established a scholarship and awarded it to the guy's kid and for the mum he put in place training so she could get the promotion she wanted within the company and paid for her and her family to go on vacation and offered to pay her rent for 6 months.

Needless to say I was in pools of tears... pools... small oceans... I chalk it up to hormonal poisoning and/or a minor flashback to that morning after my Dana White dream and wishing it was all so different.

So, I am hooked on to another reality show, but I think this one is - dare I say it - inspirational.

Fumble: Don't you hate it when you think about a conversation you had and it's not til it's too late that you think of countless things you could have said instead that would have been so much funnier or more clever? That's me today.

The Streets: Running at the gym this morning, I wished they were on my playlist... so I am playing them alllllll day.

Ok... that was a few things.

Now back to the grind... my bosses may actually show up incognito and let's be real, this kind of action 'aint going to get anyone a promotion or scholarship anywhere.
